I couldn’t recommend Dave higher, he has all the attributes to teach his students to be safe and confident drivers. He was very patient and clear – when he explains things he makes sure that you know the reasoning behind it so you can apply it to each situation. He obviously has a great deal of knowledge and experience and he is able to pass this on to his students. Thanks Dave!

I’d fully recommend Dave’s driving school because of not only the way that he taught me how to drive, but because of the way that I know he adapts his teaching methods to suit other pupils when learning how to drive. With all the patience he’s had for me, I really do owe him massively, and I’m grateful to have had him as my teacher for this new and wonderful experience

Passed today after 3 years + of trying and not quite making it! Cannot recommend Dave enough, he has seen me through a whole heap of insecurities and lack of self confidence with his patience and encouragement. I came to Dave after a bit of a poor experience with another instructor on an intensive course at the end of last year. I was nervous, overly critical and all of this was affecting even minor things when driving.

Dave helped me correct all the bad habits I’d picked up. Built up my confidence and just made me a better driver overall.

Sat my test this morning and passed with only a couple of minors (that all happened within the one car park 🤦‍♂️)

For anyone looking for an instructor in the Dumfries and Galloway area I can absolutely recommend Dave. Fantastic rates, very polite and easy to get on with. He is able to adapt his teaching style for the student and is quick to pick up on weaknesses and help fix them.

I don’t think I would have passed this quickly with anyone else.

Dave got me through learning to drive in a pandemic. So patient with all the lockdown breaks and stopping and starting. He’s a fair and thorough teacher, not only preparing you for the test but for driving safely beyond it! Flexible with timings and locations, and he really listens to how you want to learn. Highly recommend!

I hadn’t drove for five years since passing my test so was very cautious and nervous to start again. I had some refresher lessons with Dave and from the first lesson he made me feel at ease and relaxed. He was patient and a very good teacher. Can’t recommend a better person to go with. 😊

Lessons are at your own pace, and enjoyable. Dave is always punctual, and worked really well around my changing work schedule, which helped me learn over a much shorter time than I could have. Easy to talk to, ask questions, and good sense of humour. Focused on teaching me to drive, not just to pass the test.

Dave is an excellent instructor. He is relaxed and easy going making you feel comfortable and relaxed. Dave was able to take me on at short notice with no problem, and when I got a cancellation driving test in less than a week he was readily available to take me. Dave is very patient and knowledgeable instructor. He’s very insistent on focusing on positives of lessons and he calmly and clearly explains what you need to do, all with a good sense of humour too. Top bloke.

Dave’s great sense of humor and unflappable manner really helped me to relax when learning. Unlike some instructors I felt like Dave was teaching me to drive – not just to pass the test, but to be confident and safe on the road after it. He was always punctual and flexible when planning lessons and would make the effort to plan exactly how to get the most out of each lesson – you certainly get your moneys worth.

Learning to drive with Dave was absolutely painless – I always looked forward to our lessons and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dave is a brilliant instructor. Lessons were great fun, and Dave was always very patient and calming if ever I was having particular trouble. A great feature of Dave’s teaching style is that he always tailored his lessons to best suit my abilities and (nervous) personality. This approach really helped me to learn and pass first time. Dave is an absolutely amazing teacher and I cannot praise him enough. The confidence he instilled in me and amount he taught me is incredible. I will miss my lessons as they were so much fun, Dave put me at ease and I can almost guarantee I wouldn’t have passed first time without his expertise!

Really great instructor, patient, helpful and informative, and get’s the best out of your driving ability! The lessons were always a good fun as well, and I’ll definitely miss them! I was nervous about learning to drive, as my experience with a previous instructor hadn’t been very positive, however Dave put me completely at ease and I felt very comfortable driving with him.

I feel so lucky to have come across Dave as my driving instructor.I have passed my driving exam first time. I have got enough confidence on my driving from learning to drive with Dave.I had many bad habits on my driving. It is cleaned up with the help of Dave. I can honestly say that it’s been a real privalige to receive tuition from Dave, he has really helped me stay calm and taught me to keep my nerves at bay ( I was a very nervous student to begin with!) and we have had a laugh along the way aswell!! I highly recommend him as a top driving instructor!! Many thanks again!!

A year ago today I passed my driving test first time, with no faults, after having lessons in the summer with Dave. I still now hear Dave telling me what to do in my head and I wouldn’t have passed if it wasn’t for him. He is superb and is a great instructor for someone like me that had no confidence when I started driving! Thanks Dave!!
